Ida's Family Recipes
Ida's kitchen was the hub of activity in the Perzinski home. This is where we ate our meals, played cards, did homework, read the newspaper and visited with family and friends. Mom was always in the kitchen preparing a meal or making a dessert or some bread. It was amazing how she could take a few items and turn it into a great meal. When company dropped in, she gave them a smile and turned a small meal into a smorgasbord. I didn't realize it at the time, but they were the leftovers from the day before!
Mom was probably not a chef but she is a wonderful cook. We miss being at home in her big farm kitchen and smelling the wonderful aromas of mom's homemade foods. Even while mom was cooking, she always had a song to sing, a prayer in her heart or a little dance in her feet.
