Our latest news? You're looking at it!
|
| Thanks
to two Sidney students participating in Dawson Community College's Advanced Web
Design class, we are now on the web! Jill Miller and Beth Redlin, both
volunteers at the Center, put together the website as their final project for
the class in Glendive, part of a new web design degree program recently begun at
the two-year college. We hope you like
what you see and that you find the site useful for keeping up with all that's
happening at the MonDak. While more additions are yet to come, please explore the site and let us know what you think!

Students
eligible for MDHC history research
scholarship
|

The MonDak Heritage Center invites all
Richland County juniors and seniors to
apply for its first annual Summer
Scholar Scholarship Program to spend
80 hours during the months of June,
July, and August, doing research in the
MonDak Heritage Center’s historical
library and archives. The student will
create a research project, exhibit, or
paper that will be on display at the
Heritage Center or be placed in its
historical library. In reward for the 80
hours of research and the completed
project, the winning student will
receive a $500 scholarship from
the Lillian Anderson Library Fund and
the Lorena Young Jensen Scholarship
Fund. For a student who is interested in
the history of Richland County, this is
a great opportunity to do real
historical research and create a
museum-quality project. In addition to
the $500 scholarship, the student will
get to learn and practice research
skills that will benefit them in their
academic careers, regardless of their
choice of study. The winning student
will work with and receive training from
the museum’s staff, volunteers, and
board members to create a relevant,
exciting, and original research project
that will be of museum quality. The bulk
of the research will take place in the
Heritage Center’s historic library, so
the winning student must be able to
visit the Heritage Center on a regular
basis. The scholarship winner will be
chosen based on the strength of their
resume, history related experience,
letter of recommendation, and short
essay. Applications are available at
your local high school or at the MonDak
Heritage Center. Applications are due by
May 21, with the winner notified
by June 1st.
